What is the difference between a basic and a full service? A full service is recommended every 12 months or 12000 miles, whichever comes sooner. The basic service however is for those who do not drive as often and usually in an urban environment, which may place less stress on the vehicle or those who do very high mileage and consequently require more regular checks. A basic service is not a substitute for a full service as it does not include checks on the brakes and suspension which is essential over any reasonable length of time.
